WINE RUNNER JOB DESCRIPTION
The Wine Runner receives wine requests and delivers bottles to service stations; tags wine and
liquor deliveries; organizes, maintains and restocks all wine storage areas.
Also performs barista and polisher duties as directed.
Essential Functions
- Receive
wine requests (in most cases but not exclusively via radio), retrieve correct
bottle(s) from wine room(s) wine case(s) and/or other location(s) and deliver
to the correct service station; regularly communicate the status of all
requests clearly and effectively throughout shift; and restock wine and liquor
at end of shift
- Accurately
tag and stock wine and liquor deliveries using purchase order (PO)
- Organize, maintain and restock all
wine rooms, cellars and other storage areas and prep and stock sommelier
workstations including stocking glassware before, throughout and after each
shift
- Communicate
and follow up on any service team, bartender and/or guest request or concern,
including but not limited to retrieving cases of beer or liquor products from
storage when and as directed
- Perform barista and polisher duties when
and as directed, including but not limited to preparing and serving coffee, espresso
and other beverages to guests, and
polishing and stocking
all silverware, glassware, plateware, and other service utensils coming from
the dish room to the various service stations in the restaurant
- Available to work a
variety of hours, days and shifts, including weekends
- Safely and effectively use and
operate all necessary tools and equipment
- Ability to effectively
communicate in order to perform and follow job requirements in written and
spoken direction
- Ability to multitask calmly
and effectively in a busy, stressful environment
- Work in a confined, crowded
space of variable noise and temperature levels
- Able to move and lift up to 10
pounds, frequently move and/or lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally move
and/or lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for
an entire shift and move safely through all areas of the restaurant, which may
include stairs, uneven or slick surfaces

- Greet
guests with a warm, sincere smile
- Use
tact and good judgement when dealing with guest challenges and respond to guest
needs with patience and courtesy
- Proficiency in
the use and operation of all necessary tools and equipment
- Comply with all
safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures
- Successfully
complete alcohol awareness training
- Follow all rules,
policies, procedures and conditions of employment, including those outlined in
the Employee Handbook
- Get along well
with others and be a team player
- Other duties will
be assigned as needed
