Job Type: Full-time (days and nights)
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off (rotating between 12-hour day and night shifts)
Pay: Starting from £29,594.10 annually (Blended rate of £13.51 p/h) - days: £12.99 p/h; Nights and weekends: £13.99 p/h

As a Mental Health Transport Team Leader, you’ll support the management and development of frontline transport crews, ensuring the highest standards of care and professionalism during patient transitions under the Mental Health Act.
This is not just a driving or supervisory job — it's about being present, responsible, and supportive during some of the most critical and vulnerable moments in a person’s life.
You’ll oversee and participate in a variety of duties, including:
Hospital transfers, court or prison escorts, community mental health assessments
Place of Safety and Bed Watch supervision
Assisting with Section 135 removals from homes (alongside police and clinicians)
Providing hands-on care and de-escalation when needed
Monitoring and uplifting team standards, morale, and wellbeing
Acting as a key liaison between staff and management
Deputising for the DCOM during their absence
Full UK Manual Driving License (Required)
Minimum 12 months’ driving experience preferred
Enhanced DBS check within the last 3 years (preferred – all applications considered fairly)
Experience in mental health, patient transport, emergency services or similar (strong advantage)
Strong communication skills and leadership capability
Calm, confident, and composed in high-pressure situations
Natural team player with mentoring or supervisory experience
High attention to detail and professionalism
