Position Overview:

We are seeking friendly, polished and energetic Baristas / Café Associates to join the opening team at Little Heron. This role is responsible for preparing coffee and espresso beverages, assisting guests with bakery, café, wine, beer and grab-and-go selections, maintaining a clean and organized café environment and creating a warm, memorable guest experience.

The ideal candidate is personable, detail-oriented, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has a genuine passion for coffee, hospitality and guest service.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Prepare and serve espresso drinks, brewed coffee, tea and specialty beverages to company standards

·       Maintain knowledge of the full café menu including baked goods, breakfast items, sandwiches, soups, salads, wine, beer and grab-and-go offerings

·       Greet guests warmly and assist with menu recommendations and product descriptions

·       Operate POS system accurately and efficiently

·       Handle cash and credit card transactions responsibly

·       Restock pastries, bottled beverages, retail items and café supplies throughout the day

·       Maintain cleanliness and organization of counters, pastry displays, coffee stations, dining areas, and back-of-house storage areas

·       Ensure coffee equipment is cleaned and maintained properly

·       Assist with opening and closing duties, including setup, breakdown, stocking and cleaning

·       Follow food safety, sanitation, and health department guidelines at all times

·       Work collaboratively with bakery, kitchen and café team members to ensure smooth service

·       Help create a welcoming environment that encourages repeat visits from all guests

·       Stay informed on food safety and health regulations and maintain a high standard of hygiene

·       Follow all opening/closing and  side work duties assigned by management.

Qualifications:

·       Previous experience as a barista, café associate, cashier, or in a guest-facing hospitality role preferred

·       Experience with espresso machines and coffee preparation

·       Strong communication and guest service skills

·       Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

·       Professional appearance and positive attitude

·       Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds

·       Availability to work mornings, weekends and holidays as needed

·       Passion for coffee, food, hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
