About You

You’ll be an experienced or developing Chef who takes pride in producing high-quality food in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

You’ll be organised, reliable and detail-focused, with a strong understanding of food safety, hygiene and allergen controls. You’ll enjoy working as part of a close-knit kitchen team and supporting smooth, efficient service during busy periods.

Above all, you’ll care about consistency, quality and doing things the right way.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience working in a commercial kitchen environment.
  • Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and allergen awareness.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-focused kitchen.
  • Reliable, organised and detail-orientated approach.

Desirable:

  • Level 2 Food Hygiene certification
  • Experience working with branded menus or high-volume service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items to required specifications, recipes and portion standards.
  • Ensure food is presented to a high standard during all service periods.
  • Maintain consistent food quality, taste and presentation.
  • Follow all food hygiene, allergen and SFBB procedures at all times.
  • Complete temperature checks, cleaning schedules and daily kitchen documentation accurately.
  • Ensure safe storage, handling and rotation of food, including correct date coding.
  • Maintain a clean and organised workstation using a “clean as you go” approach.
  • Support end-of-shift cleaning to ensure the kitchen is left safe, clean and compliant.
  • Receive deliveries, check temperatures and ensure correct storage.
  • Support stock rotation and minimise waste in line with procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house teams to support smooth service.
  • Report hazards, equipment issues or risks immediately.

Experience & Qualifications

Essential:

  • Experience working in a commercial kitchen environment
  • Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and allergen awareness
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-focused kitchen
  • Reliable, organised and detail-orientated approach

Desirable:

  • Level 2 Food Hygiene certification.
  • Experience working with branded menus or high-volume service.

Hours of Work

Kitchen operations run across weekends, evenings and peak holiday periods.
Flexibility to work variable shifts is essential.
