Our park safety standards play a vital role in protecting our Guests, Owners, team members and visitors, and we are looking for a proactive and organised Health & Safety Manager to support the ongoing development and delivery of safe, compliant and well-managed operations across the park.

This is a hands-on role that will work closely with the Resort Director, Heads of Department, operational managers and our external Health & Safety partners to ensure safety standards are understood, embedded and consistently followed. You will support daily compliance activity, complete checks and audits, follow up actions, assist with incident investigations and help ensure leaders have the confidence and clarity to operate safely.

About You

  • You’ll be a practical, organised and confident individual with experience in health & safety, compliance, facilities, operations or a similar environment.
  • You’ll have a strong eye for detail and take pride in making sure standards are followed properly, not just written down.
  • You’ll be comfortable working with managers and team members across different departments, helping them understand what good safety looks like in day-to-day operations.
  • You’ll be confident completing checks, following up actions, recording information accurately and challenging standards when needed.
  • You’ll enjoy being out across the park, speaking with teams, spotting risks and helping to resolve issues before they become bigger problems.
  • You’ll be calm under pressure, able to prioritise effectively and confident supporting incident reporting, investigations and action planning.

As this role is highly visible across the park, you’ll also be approachable, professional and represent Unity Holidays positively at all times.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in health & safety, compliance, facilities, maintenance, park operations or a similar operational environment
  • Good understanding of health & safety requirements, safe working practices and workplace risk management
  • Confident completing checks, audits, inspections and follow-up actions
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to support, coach and influence managers and team members
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and use digital systems to track actions and compliance
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving risks
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and prioritise workload
  • Confidence challenging unsafe practices in a professional and constructive way
  • A team player who demonstrates kindness, collaboration and accountability

 

Desirable Requirements

  • IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH General Certificate or willingness to work towards a relevant qualification
  • Experience working in hospitality, leisure, holiday parks, visitor attractions or multi-site operations
  • Experience supporting incident investigations, risk assessments or safety audits
  • Knowledge of fire safety, COSHH, contractor control, accident reporting and compliance systems
  • Familiarity with external Health & Safety systems, consultants or audit platforms

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Resort Director and operational managers in maintaining high standards of health, safety and compliance across the park
  • Act as a visible point of support for managers and team members on day-to-day health & safety matters
  • Complete regular checks, inspections and audits across departments, facilities and operational areas
  • Use company systems and external Health & Safety platforms to record, monitor and follow up compliance actions
  • Work closely with external Health & Safety partners to support audits, action plans and continuous improvement
  • Track outstanding actions and work with managers to ensure these are completed in a timely manner
  • Support incident reporting, accident investigations and the identification of root causes and corrective actions
  • Assist managers with risk assessments, safe systems of work and local safety procedures
  • Support compliance with COSHH, PPE, fire safety, manual handling, contractor control and workplace safety procedures
  • Identify hazards, unsafe practices or areas of concern and escalate appropriately where required
  • Support managers with Health & Safety communication, toolbox talks, briefings and training follow-up
  • Help ensure team members understand their responsibilities and follow safe working practices
  • Work collaboratively with departments including Maintenance, Accommodation, Security, Guest Experience, Venues and Activities
  • Promote a positive safety culture where concerns are raised, acted on and learned from
  • Maintain accurate records, reports and action logs to support compliance and operational accountability
  • Follow all company policies, procedures and legal requirements at all times

Hours of Work

40 hours a week, typically Monday – Friday between 9am-5pm.

This role will include flexibility to support peak trading periods, operational incidents, audits and business needs as required.
