Our Waterpark plays a key role in the Unity guest experience, and we are looking for a confident and safety-focused Leisure Team Leader to support the day-to-day leadership and operation of our indoor and outdoor water facilities.

About You

You’ll be an experienced leisure professional with strong wet-side knowledge and a calm, confident leadership style.

You enjoy leading teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and take pride in maintaining the highest standards of safety, presentation and guest care. You’ll be comfortable making decisions, responding to incidents, and supporting your team through coaching and guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the designated manager in charge during allocated shifts, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all waterpark zones
  • Lead daily opening and closing procedures across indoor pools, waterslides, outdoor areas, lido and lazy river
  • Ensure full compliance with the NOP, EAP and all relevant health & safety and company procedures
  • Conduct and verify completion of water testing, facility inspections and operational safety checks
  • Always maintain a visible leadership presence across the waterpark
  • Monitor guest flow, capacity management and session control throughout the day
  • Support and supervise lifeguards to ensure RLSS standards and safe supervision are consistently met
  • Respond to incidents and emergencies professionally, following correct procedures and escalation routes
  • Ensure accurate recording of accidents, incidents and near-misses
  • Take responsibility for hot tub compliance across the resort, ensuring HSG282 standards are met
  • Provide on-shift coaching, guidance and support to Lifeguards, Head Lifeguards and Trainee Duty Managers
  • Deliver team briefings and reinforce daily safety priorities
  • Support new team members through inductions and on-shift development
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and professionalism across all operational zones
  • Handle guest queries and concerns calmly and professionally, ensuring positive outcomes
  • Complete operational documentation, cash handling and shift handovers accurately

Experience & Qualifications

Essential:

  • Current Pool Lifeguard qualification (NPLQ)
  • Experience supervising or leading teams in a leisure, waterpark or similar environment
  • Strong understanding of wet-side operations, pool safety and emergency response
  • Confident decision-maker with strong communication skills
  • Commitment to delivering excellent guest service

Desirable:

  • Pool Plant Level 3 qualification (or willingness to work towards)
  • NPMQ (or willingness to achieve)
  • Experience in outdoor or multi-zone water facilities
  • RLSS Trainer / Assessor or senior lifeguard management experience

Safeguarding & Compliance

This role requires an Enhanced DBS check and completion of mandatory safeguarding training.

All duties must be carried out in line with Unity Holidays’ safeguarding, safety and compliance standards.

Hours of Work

This role operates across peak holiday periods, weekends and busy trading times.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays and variable shifts is essential.
