Assistant Technical Manager (12m Fixed Term Contract)

Location: Central London (we're just 5 minute walk from Oxford Circus), although national travel may be required a part of the role.

Salary: Up to £30,000 per year

Role Overview:

The Assistant Technical Manager will support the Technical Manager providing food safety technical expertise across Big Table Group’s broad range of brands alongside supporting internal stakeholders with technical input throughout the menu development, supplier onboarding, and brand servicing stages.

To be successful in this role:

  • Relevant Food Science/Food Technology degree (or equivalent qualification or experience);
  • Understanding of audit systems procedures and policies;
  • Knowledge of HACCP principles;
  • Highly IT literate with knowledge of corporate operating systems. Highly proficient in MS Windows and MS Office software (version 2003, 2007 and later), in particular MS Excel, MS Word & MS PowerPoint;
  • Proven ability to problem solve and demonstrate a proactive approach to the same;
  • Experience in Technical/NPD in food processing within a retail, hospitality or manufacturing environment (Desirable, not essential)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to engage with both internal and external stakeholders. Ability to direct and drive workloads and timescales to ensure deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritise and complete both individual and project based work to deadline; a flexible and adaptable approach to both working hours and nature of work undertaken is required due competing workloads in a fast-paced business environment;
  • High level of attention to detail with excellent organisational and analytical skills to ensure brand KPIs and SLAs are adhered to;
  • Ability to problem solve and demonstrate a proactive approach to the same;
  • Must be able to work on own initiative as well as being a team player. The Assistant Technical Manager supports BTG cross-functionally; the ability to integrate across all areas of the BTG business is essential
  • A full UK Driving License is desired; access to public transport, if no UK Driving License is held, is essential.
