Job Title: Business Development Manager
Department: Sales and Marketing
Location: London based, with regular travel to Manchester

Salary: Up to £40,000  + uncapped commission 
Experience:  Applicants will have a minimum of 3 years of sales experience, preferably in the following sectors: Leisure, Hotels and Hospitality, Corporate Events and Travel, and Advertising or associated industries.

Urban Playground is home to the incredible CUBE experience, the world-famous TV gameshow brought to life, as well as Putters, our cutting-edge hi-tech mini golf concept. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a high-performing Business Development Manager to join our team and help drive our next phase of expansion.

Role Description

This role requires a self-confident, conscientious and well-presented individual. You will have the freedom to develop your own leads, leveraging relationships and structure your day to deliver the best outcomes for the business.

You’ll know your city well and be comfortable planning your travel to maximise efficiency. You’ll quickly build a strong understanding of the competitive landscape and confidently differentiate our offering, selling the experience for the exceptional product it is.

Networking, trade shows, face to face meetings and client entertaining will come naturally to you. Our client base includes some of the most prestigious companies in the UK and globally. This won’t faze you, in fact, it will energise you.

  • Targeting new business growth from companies and large group bookings.
  • Hybrid and flexible, with hot desks at the venues and working from home permitted per agreement with management.
  • Regular travel between clients and venues, overnight stays common, with evenings and occasional weekend work where appropriate.
  • Attending meetings at HQ in Nottingham with management team.
  • 40 hours per week.

Technical requirements

  • Experience of operating modern CRM systems, taking responsibility to ensure all records and information are up to date.
  • Create concise management reports regularly and to a high standard.
  • Knowledge and experience of using standard MS Office products, including Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Teams.
  • Additional familiarity with other tools e.g. Adobe and Canva, is an added bonus.
  • Excellent verbal and written English is essential.
