The Role

As Head Kitchen Porter, you will take ownership of the porter department, leading by example to maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised kitchen environment. You will be responsible for supervising the KP team, managing daily cleaning schedules, and ensuring smooth back-of-house operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, training and motivating the Kitchen Porter team

  • Organising rotas and delegating daily tasks effectively

  • Receiving, checking, unloading and storing deliveries correctly

  • Overseeing pot wash operations, including pots, pans, utensils and dishwasher management

  • Ensuring all kitchen areas meet strict hygiene, health and safety standards

  • Managing waste removal and recycling processes efficiently

  • Supporting chefs and management with kitchen setup and operational needs

  • Maintaining equipment and reporting maintenance issues promptly

We are looking for a proactive leader with strong organisational skills, a positive attitude, and a commitment to maintaining exceptional cleanliness and hygiene standards. Previous supervisory experience within a high-volume hospitality environment is essential.

  • Previous experience as a Senior or Head Kitchen Porter in a busy restaurant

  • Strong leadership and team management skills

  • Excellent knowledge of hygiene and food safety standards
