What we are looking for:

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Partie
  • Excellent knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and processes
  • Ability to prepare high-quality dishes consistently and efficiently
  • Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Ability to lead and motivate a small kitchen team (Commis Chefs)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to delegate tasks effectively and provide constructive feedback
  • Strong organizational skills to manage station workflow and inventory

 

Duties and Responsibilities

The Chef de Partie will support the smooth day-to-day running of food preparation and working practices. 

  • Support the Head Chef and Restaurant Manager to manage and deliver all catering services throughout the home, ensuring member choice, dignity, confidentiality, and safety are maintained.
  • Prepare nutritional food and beverages to a high standard, as directed by the Head Chef, promptly and in accordance with agreed mealtimes.
  • Prepare special diet meals as needed and as directed by the Head Chef.
  • Develop effective working relationships with other members of the team to ensure cost effective, chargeable services are provided for members. Report any shortfalls to the Head Chef.
  • Support cost-effective stock control systems to minimise waste and ensure these are in place.
  • Ensure equipment checks are maintained, liaising with the Maintenance Manager to ensure equipment is serviced regularly. Report any faults immediately to the Maintenance Manager for action.
  • Take on the temporary role of Head Chef in their absence and comply with them responsibilities as outlined by the General Manager.
  • Attend initial and update mandatory training as required. Actively engage in personal professional supervision including quarterly one-to-one meetings and a yearly performance review, ensuring personal professional knowledge and competency is maintained
