As our Chef de Cuisine, you'll be the right hand to the Executive Chef, overseeing daily kitchen operations and ensuring every event runs smoothly. You’ll lead a talented team, manage prep work and production, and even have the creative freedom to develop new dishes and menus. If you're a hands-on leader with a knack for organization and a love for great food, we want you on our team!

Responsibilities:

  • Attend weekly BEO meetings alongside production managers.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create seasonal menus and innovative dishes.
  • Assist in recipe development and testing to keep our offerings fresh and exciting.
  • Coordinate ordering, walk-in organization, and inventory management to ensure efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Execute plans and communicate key updates to the team.
  • Create and manage weekly prep and pack lists for upcoming events.
  • Develop weekly staff schedules, including meal prep, cleaning projects, and more.
  • Oversee daily kitchen preparations to maintain our high standards.
  • Work with cooks to expedite products leaving the kitchen for events.
  • Lead, mentor, and engage the kitchen team to ensure tasks are completed effectively.
  • Assist in on-site event production, ensuring quality assurance and smooth operations.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Update daily communication boards with important tasks, changes, and event details.
  • Delegate menu development and recipe R&D tasks based on the Executive Chef’s vision.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5+ years in a high-volume kitchen, preferably with a focus on catering or event services.
  • Proven track record in a leadership role within a busy culinary environment.
  • Familiarity with food safety standards and kitchen sanitation practices.
  • Comfortable with administrative tasks including scheduling, inventory, and production planning.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
  • A strong ability to collaborate across departments and drive solutions.
  • A passion for food, exceptional service, and continuous culinary learning.
  • Solid knowledge of kitchen maintenance and a variety of cooking techniques.
  • Excellent multitasking, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Clear communication skills and a natural ability to mentor and motivate a team.
  • DOH Certification.
