Francis Hotel - Maintenance

Description

*Painter and Decorator/Maintenance Team Member £28,480 per annum plus tronc*

The Francis Hotel is a collection of beautifully restored Georgian townhouses in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage city of Bath, blending historic character with modern guest comfort. It offers a timeless environment and a place to be proud to work as part of a beautiful and evolving legacy.

At the Francis, hospitality is built on collaboration and genuine care, bringing together our teams, guests and trusted partners to deliver thoughtful, locally rooted experiences. A central part of the hotel is Emberwood, our signature restaurant and a fast-emerging dining destination, where creativity, pride and warm hospitality come together.

As part of Sir Richard Sutton Ltd, a family-owned hospitality business, The Francis Hotel offers the opportunity to grow within an organisation that values individuality, teamwork and excellence, and where people are central to shaping the future of the hotel.

Our opportunity

We’re looking for a friendly, reliable Painter and Decorator/Maintenance Team Member to help keep our hotel safe, comfortable, and running smoothly for guests and staff alike. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in a job well done, and understands that great maintenance is a big part of great hospitality.

You’ll work across guest rooms and shared spaces, responding to maintenance requests, carrying out repairs, and helping prevent issues before they happen. You’ll also interact with guests and colleagues, so a positive attitude and clear communication are just as important as technical skills.

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and experiences. If you’re dependable, safety-minded, and enjoy being part of a team, we’d love to hear from you.

  • Carry out minor plumbing repairs (e.g. fixing leaks, replacing taps)
  • Handle simple electrical tasks such as changing light bulbs and fittings
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas and tools
  • Ensure all decorating and maintenance work meets health and safety standards
  • Respond promptly to maintenance and repair requests
  • Work efficiently to minimise disruption to guests and hotel operations
  • Assist with preventative maintenance to keep facilities in good condition
  • Report any major faults or repairs that require specialist attention
  • Weekend work - required on a Saturday every 2nd / 3rd weekend. Minimum 4hr
