The RoleWe're looking for a Maintenance & Facilities Technician to join our Engineering team.
This is a hands-on maintenance position responsible for keeping the hotel, its facilities and equipment in good working order. You'll be involved in both planned and reactive maintenance, carrying out repairs across the property and responding to issues raised by colleagues and guests.
Working closely with the Maintenance Manager, you'll help ensure everything from guest bedrooms and public areas to back-of-house facilities is safe, functional and well maintained.
What You'll Be DoingCarry out day-to-day maintenance and repairs throughout the property.
Respond to maintenance requests and attend to faults promptly.
Complete general repairs including basic plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, painting and decorating.
Carry out regular checks of bedrooms, public areas, plant areas and back-of-house facilities.
Assist with planned preventative maintenance to reduce breakdowns and minimise disruption.
Investigate faults and identify the cause of maintenance issues.
Carry out repairs to fixtures, fittings, furniture and hotel equipment where appropriate.
Support the Maintenance Manager with larger maintenance projects and refurbishment work.
Liaise with contractors and assist with access and on-site works when required.
Keep maintenance tools, equipment and work areas clean, organised and safe.
Record completed jobs and report any follow-up work that is required.
Identify potential issues and raise them proactively before they become larger problems.
Follow all health and safety procedures and ensure maintenance work is carried out safely.
Provide a professional and helpful service when working in guest-facing areas.
We're looking for someone who enjoys practical work and is confident getting stuck into a range of maintenance tasks.
You'll ideally have:
Previous experience in a maintenance, engineering, facilities or property-based role.
Good all-round maintenance and repair skills.
Experience with basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and decorating.
Good problem-solving skills and a practical approach to finding solutions.
The ability to prioritise jobs and respond effectively to urgent maintenance issues.
Strong attention to detail and pride in the standard of your work.
The ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
Good communication skills and a professional approach when working around guests.
A willingness to be flexible and assist wherever maintenance support is required.
Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays where required.
Relevant qualifications or trade experience would be advantageous.
