Citadines Canal Amsterdam will open its doors in early 2024 and we are looking for an enthusiastic Maintenance Technician to join The Ascott Limited's newest flagship in Europe!

Our historic and heritage property with 93 rooms is currently being renovated and we are expected to open in Q1 2024. Joining as Maintenance Technician reporting to the the Residence Manager ensuring the residence is ready when they key is handed over to us. Among other things, you will be involved in the handover from contracts, supporting the coordination of pre-opening, and ensuring that all brand procedures are introduced. When the property is operational, you will be responsible for:

  • Manages maintenance and repair all mechanical service pumps, valves, boilers, AHU and heating, ventilation and air-conditioning equipment
  • Ensures that all contractors carrying out work in the Hotel provide all relevant RAMS, are following safe working practices and sign in before any work commences
  • Deals with guest requests in a timely and efficient manner, communicating with other departments if necessary to ensure effective operation
  • To carry out general painting, tiling and all reasonable duties as needed within the property
  • The hotel complies with all regulations and legislation relating to fire safety, technical certificates and health and safety regulations

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • At least two years experience working as a Technician or Maintenance role
  • Previous experience in the hotel industry (having the knowledge of what is expected of your role)
  • Good organisational skills
  • Good knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing & carpentry
  • Good knowledge of relevant health & safety and employment legislation e.g. right to work, workplace health & safety and fire safety
  • Be a motivated and ambitious, customer focused individual ready to support, lead and manage an exciting operation

The property is located in a monumental building from the 17th century, it has been a hotel since the 1960s, but before that it was a weaver's cottage. In any case, there is enough history to see and tell about the property, which is already 350 years old. The location can also be called unique, just a 3-minute walk from the Vijzelgracht metro station. Ideal for your commute and after work you are immediately in the city to do some shopping, or to have a drink (whether or not with your new colleagues).
