Purpose of the Post

This is a great opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional to join the Maintenance Team in a newly formed role, at a very exciting time for the business. 

Reporting to the Maintenance and Facilities Manager, the Farm Park Maintenance Lead will work within the Maintenance Team to oversee the day-to-day upkeep of play equipment, buildings, fixtures and fittings at Cotswold Farm Park. This is a role based largely outdoors with a varied and wide – ranging scope of work. We have a small and friendly team working in a busy, customer facing environment.

Main Responsibilities

To assist with the delivery of all reactive & PPM requirements within the Cotswold Farm Park and in wider areas as required, this may include basic plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, ground care and generic handy person tasks. To maintain excellent standards of site presentation including and not limited to:

  • Lead on Groundcare and Mowing schedule, to include mowing, strimming, leaf clearing, weeding and spraying.
  • Assisting with Machinery Maintenance.
  • Lead & supervise a team responsible for daily reactive maintenance duties, groundcare and event build and break.
  • Ensure safe operation of equipment and use of appropriate PPE as required.
  • Undertake a wide range of preventative and reactive maintenance tasks.
  • To undertake maintenance tasks including basic painting, plumbing, play equipment repairs, carpentry, doors, equipment and fixtures.
  • Building and deconstructing temporary event or activity facilities, including horse fun rides.
  • Assist with event delivery, which can include set up, stewarding, and break down.
  • To carry out routine inspections and checks as directed by the Maintenance & Facilities Manager.
  • Assist with maintenance work on the wider Farm and Estate as required.
  • To ensure work spaces are kept clean, clear and free of obstruction.
  • Take reasonable care of items of equipment used to carry out tasks, including general cleanliness and advising on faults and any need for maintenance or replacement goods.
  • Experience completing PPM (planned preventative maintenance) works.
  • Understand personal responsibilities in relation to the Health & Safety at Work legislation and demonstrate a working knowledge of COSHH assessment applicable in own work area.
  • Continuously monitor workloads & organise as necessary.

Qualifications and education requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Building Maintenance, Reactive & Planned Maintenance.
  • Experience in Ground care & Generic Handy Person tasks.
  • Good working knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Driving License

  • Apprenticeship qualified in an area of expertise e.g., plumbing, carpentry, mechanical, electrical.
  • Experience in leading/supervising a small team.
