About the role

As Maintenance Manager, you will lead the hotel’s maintenance function, taking full ownership of all maintenance activity across the property. You’ll ensure work is delivered to a high standard, balancing hands-on tasks with team leadership and compliance oversight.

You’ll lead a small team, driving performance while supporting their development, and work closely with the General Manager and wider leadership team. This is a role for someone who is confident working independently, managing priorities and making decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Alongside day-to-day operations, you’ll play a key role in compliance, audits and asset management, ensuring the hotel is safe, well-maintained and operating at its best.

What we’re looking for

  • A hands-on, solutions-focused leader with strong technical knowledge of property maintenance and hotel operations
  • Highly organised and proactive, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong relationship builder, able to work effectively with teams, contractors and stakeholders
  • Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with senior leaders during inspections and reviews
  • Solid understanding of statutory compliance, fire life safety and industry standards
  • Committed to continuous improvement and team development
  • Aligned with leaf HOSPITALITY values: Entrepreneurial, Excellent, Human, Integrity
  • Passionate about delivering a safe, compliant and high-quality guest environment

Key responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, develop and manage the maintenance team through recruitment, 1:1s, appraisals and performance management
  • Deliver training and coaching, identifying development needs
  • Manage rotas and absence in line with business needs
  • Use HR systems (Harri) effectively

Maintenance & Operations

  • Oversee all planned and reactive maintenance across the hotel
  • Take a hands-on approach to maintenance tasks when required
  • Maintain plant room equipment and general property upkeep
  • Oversee maintenance of kitchen equipment, building services and FF&E

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company standards
  • Act as Fire Marshal, leading fire safety procedures and record keeping
  • Manage water hygiene processes and monitoring
  • Respond effectively to emergency and maintenance issues

Systems, Audits & Asset Management

  • Manage systems including Compliance Centre and Quore
  • Lead internal and external audits
  • Act as key contact for contractors, ensuring H&S compliance
  • Conduct inspections and track completion of actions
  • Lead monthly asset reviews with senior stakeholders

What you’ll get in return

  • Team Member discounted stays and 50% off F&B across the leaf HOSPITALITY portfolio
  • Team Member discounted stays and 50% of F&B across Hilton's Worldwide portfolio of over 8000 hotels
  • Ongoing learning and development opportunities
  • 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme & financial Wellness Programme

  • Uniform provided
  • Competitive pay of up to £35,000 per annum
