Sommelier Position at Marceline Brasserie, Canary Wharf

The Job: We’re looking for a knowledgeable, passionate Sommelier to join our team and take full ownership of our wine program. This is a rare opportunity to shape a dynamic, evolving list that reflects your taste, values, and curiosity. You'll have the freedom to seek out exciting small producers, low-intervention wines, and undiscovered gems—while collaborating closely with the kitchen to create unforgettable pairings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage an extensive wine program that aligns with Marceline's culinary offerings.​
  • Provide expert recommendations to guests, enhancing their dining experience through thoughtful wine pairings.​
  • Conduct staff training sessions to elevate wine knowledge and service standards within the team.​
  • Oversee inventory management, including ordering, storage, and cost control of wine selections.​
  • Stay informed about industry trends to continually refine and innovate our wine offerings.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Sommelier in a high-end restaurant setting.​
  • Extensive knowledge of European wines, with a particular emphasis on French vintages.​
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and educate both staff and guests.​
  • Certification from a recognized wine education program is preferred.​
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
