Welcome to Kentucky Fried Chicken. Our world famous chicken restaurant brand all started with one cook, Colonel Harland Sanders, who created a finger lickin’ good recipe more than 75 years ago, a list of secret herbs and spices scratched out on the back of the door to his kitchen. He started travelling by car to different restaurants and cooked his fried chicken on the spot for restaurant owners. He did this at the age of 65. If the owner liked the chicken, they would enter into a handshake agreement to sell the Colonel’s chicken. Legend has it that Colonel Sanders heard 1009 “No’s” before he heard his first yes. The Colonel’s story still inspires us today. It reminds us how grit, perseverance, dedication and ambition along with hard work can create success; regardless of your age or where you come from.
Our purpose as an employer is to empower our people to find their own secret recipe in life too.
ABOUT THE ROLE
KFC are on the lookout for a brilliant Community Executive (and real-life chicken connoisseur!) to join our award-winning Social Media Team, part of the wider Marketing team at KFC.
Social Media ‘Gurus’ or ‘Rockstars’ need not apply. We’re looking for someone who genuinely gets the space and understands the way it works. We want KFC to be embedded in culture naturally and in an authentic and credible way, not by forcing our way into people’s newsfeeds.
You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the KFC UK&I Twitter account, building our tone of voice and brand personality to celebrate our fans and their love for KFC. But this shouldn’t be one-way. We’re after someone with strong community management skills, who instinctively knows how to respond to social posts in the most positive way, who can keep the conversation going and keep our followers entertained. Oh, and our competitors can sometimes love a bit of banter, so be ready for that too
