Are you looking to kick start your career as a chef? Crafting culinary magic is something of an art form, and it’s one of the most rewarding occupations around. With over 170 years of heritage, we can provide you with a vibrant and fruitful career in hospitality!
We’re seeking Chef Apprentices to develop all the tools necessary to build themselves an exciting and successful future with us. Experience is not essential – all we ask is that you have a positive attitude and the desire to start a career.
What does the Chef Apprentice role look like?
Throughout the course of this 12-month apprenticeship you will work with experienced chefs in a fast-paced and fun environment, as part of a high-energy team. The programme covers all basic aspects of operating as a chef in a busy commercial kitchen. As part of your paid working week, you spend one day at a local college, learning and developing a wide range of valuable cooking skills, gaining the important fundamental knowledge around allergen awareness, food safety and much more, making sure you have all the skills you need to operate in a busy kitchen environment safely, with precision and speed.
You’ll practice and perfect your newly found skills with the support of your team. As your skills develop, you’ll progress around the different stations within the kitchen, while working with top quality fresh local produce, playing a hands-on role in preparing and cooking dishes to the required specification and standard. Your practical lessons and the experience you will gain as part of team, will enable you to progress onto becoming a qualified chef and an integral member of our kitchen brigade.
