ABOUT THE COMPANY

Maxime’s is the newest opening from the club owner and entrepreneur Robin Birley; owner of prestigious private member’s clubs 5 Hertford Street and Oswald’s in London. 

Opening in early 2025, Maxime’s is located on Madison Avenue, New York on the site of the former Westbury Hotel and will continue the long-established Birley tradition of providing exceptional experiences for our members and guests.

Maxime’s mission is to deliver excellence in service standards and hospitality. Exhibiting passion for what we do within the values of who we are. Inward looking rather than outward projecting. A club of comfort and discretion where members’ needs are met with personality and humility. POSITION SUMMARY

Maxime is seeking a friendly and professional Door Attendant to join our team. As a Door Attendant, you will be the first point of contact for Members and their, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive experience. Your role will involve assisting guests with their needs, maintaining security protocols, and creating a welcoming atmosphere. 

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greets Members and their guests with a warm and friendly demeanor. 
  • Assists Members with luggage, packages, umbrella and other belongings. 
  • Opens and holds doors and provides directions to various areas within the club. 
  • Maintains security by monitoring access points and ensuring only authorized individuals enter the premises. 
  • Provides information about the club amenities and services. 
  • Handle Members inquiries, requests, and complaints in a professional manner 
  • Coordinates with other club staff to ensure a seamless guest experience. 
  • Assists with valet parking services as applicable.  
  • Assists Members and guests with luggage and transportation.  
  • Maintains complete knowledge and complies with all Company policies and procedures.  
  • Responsible for monitoring or diverting the flow of street traffic outside the club as needed.  
  • Receives and delivers packages, special deliveries and mail. 
  • Maintains the cleanliness of entrance areas.  
  • Accommodates all Member requests expediently and courteously.  
  • Ensures that the Front Door is always attended.  
  • Builds rapport with Members through recognition and conversation, noting any personal preferences in guest profile.  
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of all Members, their guests, and all Company operations.  
  • Communicates important information and details to management and colleagues, as deemed appropriate by the Director of Security.  
  • Maintains knowledge and recognition of arriving Club members and their guests.  
  • Be aware of all known happenings within the club. 
  • Continually seek to improve knowledge of New York City and the Upper Eastside to provide basic direction to club members and their guests. 
  • Maintain the presentation standards of a luxury environment. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS)

  • Demonstrated knowledge of general directions, travel times and access points to various forms of transportation.  
  • Excellent customer service skills, with a friendly and approachable attitude. 
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.  
  • Familiarity with reception or front desk operations and procedures is beneficial, but not required.  
  • Previous experience working in a guest relations or hospitality setting preferred.  
  • The ability to speak multiple languages is always welcomed. 
  • Knowledge of phone systems and proper phone etiquette, or ability to learn.  
  • Ability to handle difficult situations calmly and professionally.  
  • Strong attention to detail, observational, and organizational skills.  
  • Able to work well in a team environment 
  • Able to multi-task and always remain composed 
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor in alignment with Maxime’s standards. 
  • Current First Aid and/or CPR qualifications, F0-1’s,  F0-3’s & FLSD’s, S-95 and Fire Safety certificate preferred.  

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • ·       Ability to be flexible with job demands and open-minded when being asked to complete tasks.
  • ·       Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the restaurant.
  • ·       Ability to operate with grace under pressure.
  • ·       Ability to move or handle equipment throughout the restaurant generally weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • ·       Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
  • ·       Ability to stand for up to 8-10 hours a day.
