We're hiring for Baristas for Maxime's Club!
Maxime’s is NYC’s newest private member’s club from
entrepreneur Robin Birley; owner of prestigious private member’s clubs 5
Hertford Street and Oswald’s in London. Maxime’s mission
is to provide exceptional and discreet service for our members through
unparalleled hospitality. Our members will feel as though they are in a private
home, enjoying outstanding food and wine surrounded by stunning decor.
Baristas will be the first point of contact for many
members, offering personalized service with a focus on quality and detail. By
crafting exceptional coffees and beverages, they contribute to the ambiance of
the club, creating a welcoming and refined space.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains
complete knowledge of Maxime’s policies and procedures and ensure that all
practices and policies are being upheld
- Crafting
high-quality coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and other specialty beverages,
ensuring consistency and precision in every cup.
- Providing
personalized, attentive service to members, remembering their preferences,
and creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
- Keeping
the coffee station and surrounding areas clean, organized, and
well-stocked throughout the day. This includes managing supplies like
coffee beans, milk, syrups, and cups.
- Offering
knowledgeable recommendations based on member preferences or dietary
needs, such as suggesting blends, brewing methods, or non-caffeinated
options.
- Processes
orders and payment transactions through POS, ensuring accuracy of checks
and cash handling procedures.
- Ensures
the ongoing excellence in quality of beverage items as well as the
efficiency of beverage ticket times
- Adheres
to all Department of Health and Safety standards related to food handling,
hygiene, and alcohol service, including reviewing identification of all
members to verify they are of legal drinking age
- Upsells additional menu
items, beverages, and desserts to increase revenue and enhance member
experience
- Supports
all front-of-house team members in providing exceptional guest
service
- Completes
opening and closing side work
- Attends
mandatory meetings
- Adheres
to posted schedules
- Completes
other duties as assigned by management

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum
2+ years working as a barista in a fine dining restaurant or
hotel environment in a similar capacity.
- Proficiency
in a variety of technology systems, especially Microsoft Office, Microsoft
Excel, Google Suite, POS platforms, reservation management platforms, and
various business analysis programs.
- Current
NYC Food Protection Certificate.
- Willingness
to maintain a clean, healthy, and safe working environment.
- Ability
to work independently, with minimal supervision.
- Ability
to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as
needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability
to be flexible with job demands and open-minded when being asked to
complete tasks.
- Ability
to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the
restaurant.
- Ability
to operate with grace under pressure.
- Ability
to move or handle equipment throughout the restaurant generally
weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability
to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
- Ability
to stand for up to 8-10 hours a day.
