Description

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Meeting and Events Operations Manager to play a pivotal role in the pre-opening and launch of Sofitel Dublin Airport Hotel—a luxury flagship property managed by the award-winning Arora Group in partnership with Accor’s Sofitel brand.

Directly connected to Terminal 2, this landmark hotel will redefine the guest experience at one of Europe’s busiest international gateways and will feature:

  • 412 elegant guestrooms
  • Extensive meetings and events facilities
  • A spectacular rooftop bar with panoramic views across Dublin and the airport

A bit about what you will do...  

The Assistant Meeting and Events Operations Manager supports the smooth, safe and commercially effective delivery of all meetings and events after operational handover. The role leads assigned shifts and functions, coordinates colleagues and hotel departments, resolves operational issues and deputises for the Meeting and Events Operations Manager when required.

  • Support the successful pre-opening of the Meetings & Events operation, including team training, venue setup, SOP implementation and operational readiness testing.
  • Assist in the delivery of exceptional meetings, conferences, banquets and special events, ensuring every event is executed to the highest standards.
  • Review event details, function sheets and client requirements, ensuring room layouts, catering, AV equipment, VIP arrangements and service plans are accurately delivered.
  • Conduct pre-event briefings and inspections to ensure event spaces, equipment and teams are fully prepared for service.
  • Act as a key operational contact during assigned events, proactively responding to client requests and resolving issues efficiently.
  • Oversee event service delivery, including room setup, food and beverage service, replenishment, room turns and event breakdowns.
  • Lead and supervise event teams during shifts, ensuring exceptional service standards and operational efficiency.
  • Coach and support colleagues in luxury hospitality, product knowledge, upselling and guest engagement.
  • Monitor team performance, attendance and service standards, providing feedback and supporting colleague development.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the guest experience and maximise event revenue through appropriate upselling and service enhancements.
  • Ensure accurate billing, POS usage, event charges and operational records are maintained.
  • Support stock control, equipment management, labour productivity and departmental cost control.
  • Work closely with Culinary, Stewarding, Housekeeping, Engineering, Security, Front Office and Sales teams to deliver seamless events.
  • Monitor client feedback and event performance, implementing improvements to enhance service quality and operational effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, allergen management, health & safety and operational procedures at all times.
  • Promote sustainability initiatives through effective stock management, waste reduction and responsible resource use.

  • Holder of Alcohol License, Food Hygiene and Health & Safety Certificates. 
  • Experience of working with brand standards.
