Description

Busser delivers food to Guests in a friendly, professional & knowledgeable manner. Bussers play an integral role in ensuring our Guests have exceptional dining experiences. Bussers acts as a connection between the FOH and BOH that really makes a difference in timeliness of service.  At all times, bussers are expected to be attentive to our Guests’ needs, making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed.

Bussers eliminate a lot of stress and discord by communicating information between chefs and servers.  The right person will be passionate about food, beverage, and service and thoroughly enjoy creating excellent experiences for our Guests. The ideal candidate will have a friendly, outgoing disposition and previous experience working as a busser in a bustling, fast-paced restaurant setting. Busser shifts will include weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow all instructions from expeditor

  • Assist with proper table coursing by communicating with servers when tables are cleared and re-mised and/or going slow, etc.

  • Knowledge of all table and position numbers, as well as descriptions, major components, and proper utensils for each dish

  • Inform Guests of basic information about offerings at the restaurant or bar-lab venues on property or locally

  • Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to all bar-lab policies and procedures, sanitation standards, safety, and alcohol control policies

  • Stay updated on current menu choices, menu additions, available menu modifications, and any unavailable items

  • Ensure each order is delivered according to the restaurant’s and Guest’s specifications

  • Communicate modifications and/or allergens as necessary

  • Communicate clearly any additional orders or needs the Guests may have to Server or Manager

  • Remove guests’ dirty dishes and utensils

  • Deliver used dishes and glasses to the kitchen for cleaning

  • Contribute to team effort by assisting other staff as time allows

  • Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by Manager

  • Fill in for absent staff as needed

  • Assist with special events as needed

  • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently

  • Promptly address Guest service issues and refer to management when necessary

  • Additional requests made by management to maintain flow of service, Guest experience, and/or restaurant cleanliness

Qualifications:

  • Previous restaurant experience required

  • Physically able to carry 35 pounds; able to stand, bend, and move throughout shift

  • Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks

  • Excellent at verbal communication

  • Works well and efficiently under pressure

  • Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of staff and management
