Position Summary

The Store Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the retail automotive service center. This role leads the team, drives sales and profitability, delivers outstanding customer experience, and ensures safe, efficient daily operations. The Store Manager is accountable for hitting key performance targets while building a culture of integrity, teamwork, and continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities

Operations & Performance

  • Own store sales, gross profit, and expense control
  • Monitor and improve KPIs such as ARO, ELR, car count, payroll %, tire GP, and productivity
  • Ensure accurate estimates, quality repairs, and on-time vehicle delivery
  • Maintain clean, organized, and professional store appearance
  • Enforce company SOPs, safety standards, and compliance requirements

Leadership & Team Development

  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain top talent
  • Train and coach advisors, technicians, and support staff
  • Conduct performance reviews and create development plans
  • Lead by example with strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, and respect

Customer Experience

  • Ensure every customer receives honest recommendations and clear communication
  • Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally
  • Drive high CSI/NPS scores and positive online reviews
  • Build long-term customer relationships and trust

Sales & Growth

  • Drive preventive maintenance and complete vehicle inspections (DVI)
  • Coach team on effective selling and closing techniques
  • Execute promotions and marketing initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to grow car count and average ticket

Financial & Administrative

  • Manage schedules, timekeeping, and payroll targets
  • Control inventory, parts ordering, and shrink
  • Review daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports
  • Protect company assets and minimize risk

Qualifications

  • 3+ years automotive retail management experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of automotive service operations
  • Proven ability to lead teams and drive results
  • Solid communication and conflict-resolution skills
  • Basic computer skills (POS, scheduling, email, spreadsheets)
  • Valid driver’s license
