Hello! We’re Mitchells & Butlers – we’re a big player in the UK hospitality game, Throughout the UK we have over 1,750 vibrant pubs, restaurants and bars across 18 successful and varied brands. We set the industry standard when it comes to delivering excellent guest service and great food & drink, but none of this would be possible without our amazing teams of people and our Property teams are a vital ingredient to our success.

We own some of the UKs most prestigious buildings, from Grade 1 listed properties with an incredible heritage to modern retail parks, our property estate is second to none and this is all down to the great work of our property team. From site management, to business refurbishments and restorations, to maintenance projects, the influence of our property team flows through M&B supporting some of the country’s most loved brands.

 Our Property Undergraduate Scheme

Our scheme, and our industry needs ambitious Undergraduates with a thirst for knowledge and bags of drive and determination. If you’re on the lookout for a fantastic opportunity to kick start your career in building, estate and property Management, you’ve come to the right place.

Our paid 12-month scheme is designed to give you a real insight into the professional environment of building and estate management supporting the hospitality sector, here at our in-house Property department in Birmingham City Centre. We’ll make sure your personalised programme caters to your development needs and gives you as much exposure to each function in our Property department as possible. We want you to enjoy your time with us just as much as the learnings you’ll get from it.

 We will make sure you get there by…

-        A thorough introduction to our Property department to understand how all our functions work and support our business.

-        You’ll get involved in fast paced and high value projects that will refine your technical skills.

-        We’ll support you in increasing your theoretical and practical knowledge through working in a professional environment.

-        You’ll add real value to the company by applying your knowledge, completing surveys and projects to enhance your skill set.

-        Further to this, a successful Undergraduate year within our property department can lead to the opportunity to progress into the M&B Buildings, Estate and Property Management graduate scheme.

 You’ll be really well supported by a great team of people on your journey with us - your line manager, placement manager, and a graduate buddy from our community of graduates across the business.

All sound exciting so far? To be eligible to join our Property Undergraduate scheme…

The programme is open to all penultimate year undergraduate students from a RICS or CIOB approved Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying or Construction Management degree.

• You’ll be on track to achieve at least a 2:1 degree and be able to show a review of your first-year grades.
• You’ll have achieved ABB grades at A level or above (or equivalent BTEC grades).
• Hold a full and valid UK driver’s licence.

1 - Video interview where we’ll get to know a bit about you, and if you impress us here, we’ll invite you to complete Verbal & Numerical Testing (from the comfort of your own home)

2 - Face-to-face interview and group assessments at our Retail Support Centre in Birmingham – where you’ll also get the chance to know more about us (should you progress after video interview)

3 – Final stage senior management interview (should you progress after Face-to-face assessment)
