We are looking for a fabulous Maintenance Assistant to join our team at The Mitre, Hampton Court. 

Our 40-bedroom hotel has been transformed into glamorous restaurants, cocktail bars, enchanting river terraces, an orangery, an all-day café, and even a quirky library for the most curious.  Nestled on the banks of the Thames beside Hampton Court Palace, The Mitre offers riverside elegance just 40 minutes from Central London.

You will:  

  • Support the Maintenance or Facilities Manager in ensuring all allocated tasks are completed on schedule and to the highest standard.  
  • Be comfortable working independently, but also within a wider team of Maintenance Assistants, Gardeners at any given time. 
  • Be agile in responding to emergency maintenance calls, this includes internal teams, and external or third party contractors.
  • Be guest focused and approachable, whilst ensuring discretion and awareness of our guests' time and privacy during their stay with us. 
  • Regularly conduct troubleshooting to solve minor technical, internal, or exterior issues (e.g, guest bedrooms, to the kitchen, to the bar). 
  • Remain calm under pressure, or when responding to urgent tasks, including power cuts or similar. 
  • Plan and oversee renovations and construction projects.
  • Show initiative and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ensure all Company rules and regulations relating to Hygiene, Health and Safety are being followed.
  • Regularly conduct tests on all equipment and machinery ensuring it is safe to use, and does not pose any dangers to individuals.
