A Day in the Life
As a Staff Accountant at Mo’ Bettahs, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations. You’ll support a variety of core accounting functions including general ledger management, vendor reconciliation, and financial reporting. You'll also collaborate with internal teams across departments and play a critical part in supporting the month-end close, audits, and other key financial processes.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Prepare accurate and timely journal entries
- Review accounts payable payments for accuracy and completeness
- Manage and prepare monthly reporting for third-party customers
- Assist with reviewing and reconciling credit card transactions
- Reconcile vendor accounts and monitor aging reports
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations
- Analyze and validate financial data for accuracy and consistency
- Maintain fixed asset register, ensuring timely updates for additions and disposals
- Assist with construction project accounting and coordination with the Development team
- Record and reconcile sales data from the restaurant point-of-sale system
- Support the AP Manager with invoice processing and intercompany accounting
- Assist with the preparation of annual 1099s and audit documentation
- Collaborate with the Brand Controller and other team members to support financial processes
- Actively contribute ideas, improvements, and solutions
- Perform other duties as assigned
What You’ll Need
- 1–3 years of accounting experience
- Working toward or completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard accounting procedures
- Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
- Experience with accounting software (ERP systems preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.)
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- Experience in restaurant, retail, or construction accounting is a plus
