Responsibilities:

The Shift Leader is responsible for leading team members in running an efficient operation, assisting with day-to-day store operations, maintaining high store standards and conditions, and fostering a positive environment. 

  • Open or close restaurant; complete opening or closing checklist, as applicable 
  • Able to perform all POS functions, including opening and closing procedures, comps, voids and transfers, back of house administration (employee creation, menu management, etc.) 
  • Ensures that all NAYA drink and food recipes and procedures are followed, maintaining the highest quality and consistent product standards 
  • Promotes and practices safe work habits through trainings, education, and day-to-day management; Identifies and resolves potential safety hazards; Ensures accidents are documented following proper procedures 
  • Resolves team member or customer conflicts through Naya complaint handling procedure Facilitates on-going training and development of current staff; Coach and counsel team members for improved performance, documenting developmental plans as necessary, with General Manager approval 
  • Ensures that all team members are educated on NAYA’s products and services Builds morale and team spirit by fostering a work environment where team members’ input is encouraged Assist Kitchen Manager, Assistant Manager & General Manager in delivering performance reviews to all FOH and BOH hourly employees 
  • Collaborate with the team during cleaning and closing procedures. These include all the areas of the restaurant such as kitchen dishwashing station, FOH & BOH area. 
  •  Ensure everyone follows food and health safety procedures during your shift.


 Essential Functions

  •  The ability to speak, understand, read and write in English 
  • The ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal directions 
  • The ability to understand and perform basic math 
  • The ability to work independently or as part of a team 
  • The ability to lift at least 50 pounds on a regular basis 
  • The ability to bend, stoop, stand and perform extensive walking for 8-10 hours a day 
  • Organized approach to projects 
  • Adaptable in fast-paced and challenging work environments 
  • Able to take and give direction 
  • Communicates information effectively and efficiently 
  • Able to approach their work with a sense of ownership and work with a sense of urgency 
  • Able to work nights, weekends and holidays, and variable schedule, per the needs of the business 
  • Ability to perform essential job functions under pressure, maintain professionalism when working under stress 
  • Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics, which inspire team members to meet and exceed standards 
  • Polished personal presentation: grooming meets Naya’s standards, as outlined by Employee Handbook 
  • Maintains general knowledge of the restaurant, location, transportation, management team, etc. 
  • Ability to utilize traditional software programs such as Gmail, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), and any additional systems as needed; Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system 
  • Participate in community events and ensure corporate social responsibility goals of the Company are met 
  • Ensure that all staff are compliant with Company’s policies and procedures, as well as city, state and federal laws 
  • Attend mandatory meetings including staff meetings, leadership meetings, etc. 
  • Complete other duties as assigned by Management 
Education Requirements
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience 

  • Holds Food Protection Certificate

Compensation
  • Competitive pay rates based on your experience ranging from $17.00 to $19.00 per hour.
