As Commis Pastry, you will support the pastry team in delivering high-quality desserts that reflect the Lucia Restaurant brand standards. This is a hands-on, development-focused role, ideal for a motivated pastry professional looking to grow their skills in a fast-paced, luxury hospitality environment. You will assist in preparation, production, cleanliness, and service execution while learning consistency, presentation, and efficiency.
Assist in the preparation of desserts, pastries, cakes, and baked goods according to recipes and standards
Support daily mise en place for the pastry section
Help with basic dessert decoration and plating under supervision
Follow recipes, portioning guidelines, and instructions from senior pastry chefs
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry workstation at all times
Ensure proper handling, storage, labelling, and rotation of ingredients
Comply with all hygiene, food safety, and health regulations
Assist with receiving deliveries and basic stock organization
Use pastry equipment safely and correctly, reporting any issues
Support service during busy periods with speed and accuracy
Assist with event preparation and special service requirements when needed
Communicate clearly with kitchen and service teams
Be flexible and willing to assist with other kitchen duties as required
Previous experience or training in pastry or baking (culinary school or professional kitchen experience preferred)
Strong interest in pastry and dessert production
Eagerness to learn, improve, and develop skills
Attention to detail and pride in presentation
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Reliable, organized, and able to follow instructions
