Position: Sushi Cook
Location: Mallorca, Spain
Contract: Full-time, Seasonal


Position Overview

As Sushi Cook, you will support the Sushi Chef in the preparation and presentation of sushi dishes while maintaining the highest standards of quality, freshness, hygiene, and consistency.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about Japanese cuisine who is eager to grow within a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment. You will work closely under the guidance of the Sushi Chef and wider culinary team to ensure smooth daily operations and exceptional guest experiences.


 Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare sushi dishes with accuracy, consistency, and attention to presentation.
  • Support the Sushi Chef with daily mise en place and sushi station preparation.
  • Assist in preparing fresh fish, seafood, rice, sauces, and other sushi ingredients.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi section at all times.
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and storage standards strictly.
  • Ensure proper handling, labeling, and rotation of products.
  • Assist in receiving and storing deliveries as needed.
  • Support smooth kitchen operations during high-volume service periods.
  • Adapt to guest dietary requests and preferences when required.
  • Work collaboratively with BOH and FOH teams to ensure excellent service flow.
  • Help reduce waste and maintain portion consistency.
  • Learn and develop sushi cutting, rolling, and plating techniques under the guidance of the Sushi Chef.
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and team-oriented attitude.

 What We’re Looking For

  • Passion for Japanese cuisine and sushi preparation.
  • Basic experience in sushi preparation or Asian cuisine preferred.
  • Willingness to learn and develop within a luxury hospitality environment.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
  • Organized, clean, and detail-oriented approach to work.
  • Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

 Strong knowledge of:

  • Basic sushi rolling and preparation techniques
  • Food hygiene and kitchen safety standards
  • Fish and seafood handling basics
  • Kitchen organization and cleanliness
  • Product storage and rotation procedures
