Description
Working for Neds is not just a job — it's a career.

At Neds Noodle Bar, we are on a mission to provide a loving and cultured environment for our customers and our people, while serving what we believe are the Number One Noodles in a Box.

We are looking for a General Manager who wants to take real ownership of a restaurant and make it their own.

As General Manager, you will take responsibility for your restaurant's people, performance, standards and profitability. You will have the freedom to lead your team, improve your restaurant and make decisions — with the trust and autonomy to run your restaurant, while staying true to the Neds way of working.

Our brand standards, operational flow, steps of service and product quality are non-negotiable. Within those standards, we want you to think like an owner, make decisions and find ways to make your restaurant better.

You are the chief! You are responsible for what happens in your restaurant. We trust our General Managers to lead their people, solve problems, make decisions and drive their restaurant forward.

You will set the tone in the restaurant. You will lead from the front, develop your team, create a great customer experience and make sure the restaurant is clean, efficient, well-run and profitable.

And because we believe our managers should share in the success they create, you will participate in our quarterly profit share scheme — your success directly contributes to your reward.

If you are successful, your restaurant should become one of our busiest, best-run and most profitable restaurants.

Your future with Neds

We are a small business with four locations, so we don't follow the traditional corporate route of moving everyone towards Area Manager, Operations Manager or office roles.

We prefer people who genuinely enjoy running a restaurant and want to build something of their own.

For the right person, we already have a proven pathway from General Manager towards business ownership within Neds. Outstanding managers can, over time, progress towards becoming an Owner Manager, Neds Business Partner or Franchise Operator, depending on the opportunity and their experience.

This is a long-term journey built on performance, experience and trust. It provides a potential route towards business ownership without requiring a large financial commitment at the outset.

Our focus is simple: we are looking for great General Managers first. If you prove yourself, have the ambition and want to take the next step in the future, we can support you in getting there.

What you'll be responsible for
  • Running the restaurant day to day and taking ownership of its performance.

  • Leading, training, developing and motivating your team.

  • Delivering excellent food, service and customer experience consistently.

  • Maintaining Neds standards across product, service, cleanliness and operational flow.

  • Managing sales, labour, stock, waste, costs and your restaurant's P&L.

  • Recruiting, developing and retaining the right people.

  • Ensuring food safety, health & safety and legal requirements are met.

  • Building a positive relationship with the local community.

  • Identifying opportunities to improve the restaurant and acting on them.

  • Building a team that can perform consistently without relying on the manager to do everything themselves.

You will be measured by the performance of your restaurant, but just as importantly by the strength of your team.

We don't want someone who is simply the best person on shift. We want someone who can build a great team, develop people and create a restaurant that performs to a high standard every day.

What we're looking for
  • Minimum 2 years' management experience in a busy hospitality or QSR environment.

  • A strong people leader who enjoys developing others.

  • Commercially aware, with a good understanding of sales, labour, stock and profit.

  • High standards and excellent attention to detail.

  • Passionate about great food and customer experience.

  • Upbeat, approachable, chatty and human-loving.

  • Hands-on, energetic and positive.

  • Confident making decisions and taking responsibility.

  • Able to balance ownership and initiative with strict brand standards.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

  • Good basic IT, maths and written and spoken English.

  • Wok or Asian food experience is an advantage, but strong QSR kitchen and operational experience is more important.

  • Flexible to work some evenings, weekends and holidays.

What we offer
£38,000–£42,000 starting salary depending on experience

Plus:

  • Quarterly profit share — your success directly contributes to your reward.

  • 28 days paid holiday.

  • Meal on every shift.

  • Training and development.

  • Staff parties and team events.

  • A friendly, supportive working environment.

  • Real responsibility and autonomy.

  • A genuine long-term pathway towards business ownership for the right person.

If you want to run a restaurant, build a great team, share in the success and potentially work towards owning your own Neds business, we'd love to hear from you.
