Nerai, offers a contemporary twist on sophisticated Greek dining in the heart of the city. Situated in historic four-story townhouse, Nerai offers a lively bar and beautifully decorated dining and events rooms. Flavorful seafood focused dishes and extraordinary drinks are stripped down to their simple essence, and then presented beautifully. The Host Person is responsible for ensuring the prompt recognition and seating of all guests as assigned and to assist the servers and managers in providing attentive, courteous and efficient service to guests throughout their dining experience. He/she is also responsible for the answering of phones, taking inquiries, maintaining/gatekeeping upcoming events and future reservations.

Responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests at appropriate tables in a timely manner.
• Be attentive of guests' needs assist in providing a pleasant dining experience.
• Mastering and properly taking reservations via the restaurants POS and phone systems.
• Ensure quality control of all dining and event menus regarding cleanliness and appearance.
• Perform opening, closing and shift duties according to the established checklist.
• Have a complete knowledge of standards of service for a fine dining establishment.
• Have a thorough knowledge of the various menus and daily specials in answering guests.
• Assist servers and cashiers in the servicing of guests as needed.
• Ensure overall guest satisfaction during their visit.

Qualifications
• Must possess a college education with prior hosting experience in a fine dining or similar establishment.
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
• Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
• Ability to stand during entire shift and walk up/down stairs for seating guests.
• Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
• Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
• Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
• Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Company standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary accordingly.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper attire pertaining to a fine dining establishment.
• Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
• Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as they arise.
• Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or management needs.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.
• Maintaining a friendly and warm demeanor at all times during work hours.
