Description
Laundry Assistant

£12.71 per hour to £13.45 with boost + share of hotel tips  (approx. £1 per hour)

Join a people-first team where every role matters.

At Bedruthan and Scarlet, we believe great hospitality starts with great people. As a family-owned, independent Cornish business, we've built a culture where our team feel valued, supported, and proud of the work they do.

We're currently looking for a Laundry Assistant to join our housekeeping team. If you're reliable, organised, enjoy working independently, and take pride in a job well done, we'd love to hear from you.

Why Join Us?

✔ £12.71 per hour plus a share of hotel tips

✔ A genuinely people-first culture where you're recognised and appreciated

✔ Permanent contract with 28 days holiday (29 after one year)

✔ Learning, development and career progression opportunities

✔ 40% discount on food and drinks, plus discounts across hotel services

✔ Health Shield Healthcare Plan

✔ Long service rewards, including a complimentary stay at Bedruthan after your first year

✔ Local partnership discounts

✔ Temporary on-site team accommodation available

This is more than a behind-the-scenes role. Every perfectly prepared room, every comfortable night's sleep, and every memorable guest experience starts with the standards maintained by our laundry team.

The Role

Our laundry operation is at the heart of both hotels, ensuring fresh, high-quality linen is always ready for our guests and team members.

You'll play a vital role in maintaining the exceptional standards we're known for, working independently while being part of a supportive housekeeping team.

The laundry operates between 6am and 10pm, so flexibility is important. The role includes a mixture of shifts, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Loading and unloading washing machines and tumble dryers
  • Checking, sorting, folding and organising freshly laundered linen
  • Carrying out minor sewing and repairs when needed
  • Replenishing laundry supplies and consumables
  • Ordering linen and maintaining stock levels
  • Keeping the laundry area clean, organised and safe
  • Reporting equipment faults and maintenance issues
  • Following health and safety procedures at all times
  • Supporting the wider housekeeping team when required
What We're Looking For

You don't necessarily need previous laundry experience—we can teach that. What's most important is your attitude and approach.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Takes pride in delivering consistently high standards
  • Is reliable, dependable and self-motivated
  • Enjoys working independently and staying organised
  • Has a practical, hands-on approach
  • Can manage a physically active role
  • Communicates well and enjoys being part of a team
  • Is flexible and willing to work weekends and bank holidays

Previous experience in laundry, housekeeping, hospitality or a similar environment would be an advantage, but it's not essential.

A Workplace Like No Other

Perched on the dramatic North Cornwall coastline, Bedruthan and Scarlet have spent decades creating exceptional guest experiences while building a workplace where people can thrive.

When you join us, you're not just taking a job—you're becoming part of a team that genuinely cares about its people, celebrates individuality, and supports personal and professional growth.

If you're looking for a role where your work matters, your contribution is recognised, and you're part of something special, we'd love to welcome you to the team.

AGENCIES: We're not working with recruitment agencies on this role. Any unsolicited CVs will be treated as direct applications and agency fees will not be payable.
