What do we want?

We’re looking for a talented and enthusiastic Chef de Partie to join our vibrant team at Scarlet Kitchen, part of our award-winning hotel on the Cornish clifftops. You’ll be helping to craft beautiful, sustainable dishes that celebrate the best of local produce. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who’s ready to take the next step in their culinary career within a supportive, people-focused environment.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Prepare and present high-quality dishes in line with Scarlet’s food philosophy

  • Support the Sous Chef and Head Chef in daily kitchen operations

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety

  • Contribute to menu development with creative input

  • Ensure consistency and excellence in every plate

  • Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff

  • Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen and front-of-house teams

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role within a professional kitchen

  • Food Safety Level 2 (essential)

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Professional Cookery (desired)

  • Passion for sustainability and local sourcing

Key Skills:
  • Strong communication and teamwork

  • Attention to detail and consistency

  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Creativity and a willingness to learn

  • Time management and organisational skills
