Description

Are you passionate about local, seasonal ingredients?

Do you thrive in a fast‑paced, creative kitchen environment?

Are you a team player who takes pride in delivering exceptional food experiences?

What do we want

We’re looking for two talented and enthusiastic Chef de Parties to join our vibrant Scarlet Kitchen team, part of our award‑winning, adult‑only luxury hotel on the Cornish clifftops. Across both roles, you’ll help craft beautiful, sustainable dishes that celebrate the best of local produce.

One of these positions will focus on the pastry section, so we’re particularly keen to hear from chefs with substantial pastry experience, confident in creating refined, elegant desserts that complement our seasonal menus. The second role is ideal for a skilled all‑round CDP ready to grow within a supportive, people‑focused environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity for chefs looking to take the next step in their culinary career while working in a calm, creative kitchen that values sustainability, craftsmanship and personal development.

Both roles available are offered on permanent full-time contracts, working 45 hours Monday to Sunday on a rota basis.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Prepare and present high‑quality dishes in line with Scarlet’s food philosophy

• Support the Sous Chef and Head Chef in daily kitchen operations

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety

• Contribute creative ideas to menu development

• Ensure consistency and excellence in every plate

• Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff

• Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen and front‑of‑house teams

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a professional kitchen

• Food Safety Level 2 (essential)

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Professional Cookery (desired)

• Passion for sustainability and local sourcing

• Substantial pastry experience required for one of the two available roles

Key Skills

• Strong communication and teamwork

• Attention to detail and consistency

• Ability to work under pressure

• Creativity and a willingness to learn

• Excellent time management and organisational skills

What we offer

• £13.10 hourly rate plus a share of hotel tips

 • A people‑centric working environment

• Learning and internal career progression opportunities

• Permanent contract with 28 days holiday (29 after 1 year)

• Long service scheme – enjoy a free stay at Bedruthan after your first year

• 40% off food, drinks and other hotel services

• Local partnership discounts

• Health Shield Healthcare Plan

• Temporary on-site team accommodation available

Perched on the rugged clifftops of North Cornwall, Bedruthan and Scarlet have always been trailblazers in hospitality — setting the standard for exceptional experiences and refined service. When you join us, you become part of one of the UK’s most exciting independent companies.

This isn’t simply a job — it’s the place you want to be.

**AGENCIES: We’re not working with recruitment agencies on this role, and thank you for thinking of us. Any unsolicited CVs will be treated as direct applications and agency fees will not be due.**
