Scarlet Hotel | Mawgan Porth, Cornwall
£28,683.20 - £31,366.40 per annum, plus a share of hotel tips | Permanent | 40 hours per week
Some meals are served. Others become lasting memories.
At Scarlet, dining is never just about what's on the plate. It's about the atmosphere, the warmth of the welcome, the effortless flow of service and the quiet moments that make guests feel truly looked after.
Overlooking the Atlantic, our restaurant brings together exceptional seasonal food, thoughtfully curated wines and genuine hospitality. Every service is an opportunity to create something memorable, and every member of the team plays their part.
We're looking for a Restaurant Team Leader who shares our belief that luxury is personal. Someone who leads with confidence and kindness, inspires those around them and understands that the finest service feels natural, never scripted.
If you're passionate about people, exceptional food and creating experiences that guests remember long after they've returned home, we'd love to hear from you.
The role
Working alongside our Restaurant Managers and wider Food & Beverage leadership team, you'll help shape every guest's dining experience while supporting and developing a talented team of Restaurant Hosts.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll be visible on the restaurant floor, leading by example, coaching your team in the moment and ensuring every service is calm, seamless and consistently exceptional.
From mentoring colleagues and sharing your knowledge of food and wine to delivering elegant service and maintaining impeccable standards, you'll help create the warm, intuitive hospitality Scarlet is known for.
What you'll be doing
Leading every service with confidence, warmth and professionalism.
Delivering exceptional dining experiences that feel personal, relaxed and memorable.
Coaching, mentoring and developing Restaurant Hosts to build confidence and capability.
Sharing your knowledge of food, wine and service to inspire both guests and colleagues.
Working closely with the kitchen and wider hotel teams to ensure every service runs effortlessly.
Supporting the commercial success of the restaurant through outstanding guest experiences and product knowledge.
Maintaining exceptional standards of presentation, cleanliness, food safety and health & safety.
Supporting intimate events and special occasions, ensuring every detail is thoughtfully delivered.
Creating a positive, collaborative culture where people feel supported, valued and proud of what they do.
Who we're looking for
You'll be someone who naturally brings out the best in others and enjoys creating memorable experiences through thoughtful hospitality.
You'll thrive here if you:
Have previous experience leading a restaurant or food & beverage team.
Are passionate about exceptional service and luxury hospitality.
Lead with empathy, positivity and professionalism.
Enjoy coaching, developing and encouraging others to grow.
Stay calm under pressure and lead confidently during busy services.
Have a genuine interest in food, wine and creating exceptional dining experiences.
Take pride in the smallest details because you know they're often the ones guests remember.
Believe hospitality is about connection, not performance.
A background within quality restaurants, boutique hotels or luxury hospitality is advantageous, but we're equally interested in people whose passion, leadership and personality align with the Scarlet way.
Why Scarlet?
Scarlet is more than an award-winning hotel.
It's a place where thoughtful luxury, sustainability and genuine hospitality come together to create experiences that feel both effortless and unforgettable.
As part of our independent, family-owned business, you'll have the freedom to grow, learn and make your mark. You'll work alongside people who care deeply about what they do, support one another and believe that the best guest experiences begin with an engaged, empowered team.
This isn't simply your next leadership role. It's an opportunity to be part of one of the UK's most distinctive hospitality destinations.
