Bar Team Leader
Scarlet Hotel | Mawgan Porth, Cornwall
£28,683.20 - £31,366.40 per annum (including our Performance Boost Scheme), plus a share of hotel tips (approximately £1 per hour).
Permanent | 40 hours per week
Some bars serve drinks. Ours creates moments.
As the sun sinks behind the Atlantic, conversations linger a little longer, cocktails are crafted with care, and every detail is considered. At Scarlet, our bar isn't simply somewhere to order a drink—it's where celebrations begin, stories unfold and unforgettable evenings take shape.
We're looking for a Bar Team Leader who understands that luxury isn't formal or scripted. It's intuitive. It's personal. It's remembering a guest's favourite cocktail before they ask, recommending the perfect wine to accompany the moment, and inspiring a team to deliver hospitality that feels effortless.
If you're passionate about people, exceptional drinks and creating experiences that stay with guests long after they've left Cornwall, we'd love to meet you.
The role
Working alongside our Restaurant Managers and Wine & Beverage Services Manager, you'll lead from the floor, bringing energy, confidence and calm leadership to every service.
You'll inspire your team to deliver exceptional hospitality while helping to shape the evolving beverage experience at Scarlet—from beautifully balanced cocktails and premium spirits to outstanding wines and thoughtful guest recommendations.
Every shift is an opportunity to coach, develop and motivate others, ensuring every guest leaves feeling they've experienced something genuinely special.
What you'll be doing
Leading by example and setting the standard for luxury hospitality.
Creating relaxed, memorable guest experiences through genuine, personalised service.
Coaching, mentoring and developing Bar Hosts to build confidence and capability.
Building lasting relationships with guests and anticipating their needs.
Sharing your knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wines and premium local producers.
Supporting seasonal drinks menus, promotions and beverage innovation.
Ensuring consistently high standards of presentation, cellar management and stock control.
Maintaining excellent health & safety, licensing and food hygiene standards.
Creating a positive, collaborative culture where people enjoy coming to work.
Who we're looking for
You'll be someone who leads with warmth as much as confidence.
You'll thrive here if you:
Love creating memorable experiences for others.
Enjoy developing people and celebrating their success.
Lead with empathy, positivity and professionalism.
Have previous experience supervising within a quality bar, restaurant or hotel.
Are passionate about cocktails, wine, spirits and continually expanding your knowledge.
Stay calm under pressure and enjoy the buzz of a busy service.
Take pride in the smallest details because you know they're often the ones guests remember.
Believe the best hospitality feels natural, never rehearsed.
Luxury hospitality experience is advantageous, but your attitude, leadership style and passion for exceptional service are what matter most.
Why Scarlet?
Scarlet is a place where thoughtful luxury meets genuine hospitality.
Perched above the dramatic North Cornish coastline, we're proud to do things differently. We believe in giving our teams the freedom to be themselves, empowering them to create authentic connections rather than scripted interactions.

Benefits & Perks
£28,683.20 - £31,366.40 per annum (including our Performance Boost Scheme).
A share of hotel tips (approximately £1 per hour).
Permanent 40-hour contract over a 5-day working week.
Performance Boost Scheme – the more you bring to the role, the more opportunity there is to earn. We recognise team members who deliver great guest experiences, are willing to learn across different roles and regularly support other teams. For eligible team members, this can mean the opportunity to earn more on top of base pay.
A people-centric working environment.
Learning, development and internal progression opportunities.
28 days' holiday, plus an extra day after your first year's service.
Long Service Award – enjoy a complimentary overnight stay after your first year.
40% off food and drink, plus team discounts across hotel services.
Local partnership discounts, Health Shield Healthcare Plan and wellbeing support.
Temporary on-site team accommodation, free parking, team socials and celebration events.
If hospitality is your craft, not just your career...
...and you believe the finest service is warm, intuitive and genuinely personal, we'd love to hear from you.
Join Scarlet and help create the moments our guests remember long after the last cocktail has been poured.
