Job description
New York Cruise Lines is the parent company of the iconic Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises, and other industry leading travel, hospitality and restaurant businesses. Circle Line, a fixture in global tourism, has hosted more than 60 million passengers since 1945 and is recognized as “America’s Favorite Boat Ride”, world- famous for sightseeing and special events including concerts and entertainment. Located in midtown Manhattan, we offer unique and exciting event spaces, and have an opportunity for a seasoned, dynamic professional to build a team, raise the bar, and lead the business to the next level. The VP of Sales is an executive level position, responsible for directing all aspects of the Sales departments, and for developing and implementing sales strategies across a wide range of market segments to achieve financial goals. As well as developing, training and directing the sales team, the VP acts as a liaison between the operating departments to ensure successful events which will foster repeat business. New York Cruise Lines also owns and operates award-winning floating restaurants including North River Lobster Company, an award winning casual floating lobster shack, as well as the brand new Fish Bar at North River Landing, a waterfront seafood restaurant with an expansive outdoor top deck and lively bar scene. New York Cruise Lines also operates World Yacht, a luxury special events and private charter business, as well as The BEAST Speedboat summer time thrill ride. The company is located in Hudson River Park on 42nd Street and the Hudson River, convenient to Times Square, the High Line and Hudson Yards.

Job Responsibilities
• Fully responsible for leading the sales team to the achievement of established financial goals
• Acquire and maintain a solid base of corporate accounts grow corporate revenues from new and existing corporate clients
• To aggressively pursue new corporate clients and corporate business opportunities that can be converted to confirmed contracts for existing and new clients
• Daily management of all sales staff
• Achieving and establishing a client base through direct outside sales efforts as well as leads
• Preparation of the annual budget and financial plans which support the overall objectives of the business
• Responsible for completing monthly reports to provide productivity and accountability
• Consistently look for new sales opportunities globally that will help in the promotion of our products and venues to increase sales numbers
• Completion of accurate forecasts, plans, and sales production reports
• Develop plans and strategies for developing business and achieving the company’s sales goals
• Define and oversee incentive programs that motivate the sales team to achieve their sales targets
• Define sales training programs that enable staff to achieve their potential
• Work closely with the marketing function to establish successful channel and partner programs
• Reinforce strong and positive inter-departmental relationships while following all company policies and procedures
• Lead proactive, sales campaigns to drive new business
• Implement best-in-class customer service to retain and grow existing customers. Develop and lead sales retention plans for existing clients, and maximize opportunities for repeat business and cross-sales
• Develop, implement and lead outstanding sales processes. Ensure front-line sales managers and sales staff are actively and effectively managing sales pipelines, fully leveraging all sales opportunities
• Foster a highly motivating sales atmosphere where rewards are clear and productive and encouragement is frequent
• P&L responsibility, limit expenses, increase efficiencies
• Stay abreast of industry and competitive trends.
• Manage and trouble shoot all daily Box Office communications
• Continually develop new ideas and methods to improve department operations and effectiveness
Job requirements
• At least 15 years of catering / tourism / hospitality sales experience with at least eight years direct management experience over a sales team
• Act as the single point of contact for assigned managed corporate accounts to drive revenues
• Provide personalized, strategic account management for managed corporate accounts
• Develop new corporate account business opportunities and contacts that will drive revenues
• Execute business development strategies to break into and grow penetration of corporate accounts
• College degree in sales/marketing or hospitality or related field
• Proven track record in meeting/exceeding sales goals
• Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, revenue management
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Must complete professional and persuasive presentations to various groups
• Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure, and independently
• Ability to handle multiple tasks with excellent attention to detail
• The ability to travel to attend workshops, tradeshows, conventions, etc.
• May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays
