The club is situated on the seventh floor of 100 Church Street, spanning an entire city block with over 500 linear feet of window frontage and 34,000 square feet of perfectly matched amenities, spaces and services to meet a wide array of member needs. The variety of family-friendly facilities and spaces – from wellness and fitness to dining, meeting rooms and event spaces – and exclusive program offerings, merge to create a unique offering not found in the City today.

Job Overview

The server’s responsibilities include serving guests in a warm, accommodating, professional manner ensuring total guest satisfaction. Communicating with the front of house and back of house staff to provide the correct sequence of service is key.  

Many of the responsibilities are similar to expectations in fine dining venues, so that kind of experience will be very helpful for you. The server is responsible for serving beverages, marking silverware, and serving and clearing food in cooperation with the rest of the service team. Sell, present and serve wine according to NEXUS Club’s standards. Know and sell the menu, including specials, allergens, preferences, etc. Make all guests feel entirely at ease and well-taken-care-of, at all times, period. 

As this is a private member's club that incorporates much more than just food and beverage, you'll also be asked to take on responsibilities outside the normal scope of a fine dining server job. If this is exciting to you, awesome! Thriving in unfamiliar terrain is a must. Examples include working large scale events (conferences, lunches, dinners, fitness boot camps, live music, cocktail parties), coordinating kids activities with our supervised care team, coordinating a meal plan with our chef & fitness team, coordinating a fantasy football draft, resetting a conference room in 90 seconds flat, conducting an impromptu tequila tasting, or making custom bloody marys tableside.

Primary Duties

·      Remember frequent members and build relationships with all club members.

·      Accommodate guests by making each individual feel welcome and providing all they need - preferably before they ask

·      Have a detailed knowledge about the menu and beverage list and be able to explain.

·      Present members and guests with daily specials.

·      Know each menu item, its ingredients, preparation methods, and allergens.

·      Use of POS system to input orders, split checks, charge credit cards, and look up club member information when needed.

·      Run food to dining room, clear tables between courses, and reset tables after meals.

·      Make recommendations when appropriate.

·      Adhere to all DOH safety guidelines.

·      Perform all other duties as assigned.
