Position Summary

Servers are the primary point of interaction for guests and play a pivotal role in ensuring an exceptional dining experience. This position is responsible for taking orders, delivering dishes, and providing attentive service throughout the meal. Servers work closely with the kitchen and management teams to ensure a seamless and exceptional experience for every guest, reflecting the standards and culture of the restaurant and Noble Food & Pursuits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

*The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following and may change or be adjusted at any time*

  • Collaborate with the management team and kitchen staff to ensure that service operations enhance the guest experience and meet high service standards.
  • Provide attentive and personalized service throughout the meal, including taking orders, delivering dishes, and ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Assist in the opening and closing of the restaurant, ensuring all service stations are set up and broken down efficiently.
  • Warmly greet and engage with guests, making them feel welcome and valued throughout their dining experience.
  • Answer questions about menu items, provide recommendations, and determine available options for guests with dining restrictions.
  • Maintain an organized and calm demeanor during peak service times, ensuring that all tables are served efficiently, and guest needs are met promptly.
  • Process guest payments via cash and credit card transactions, ensuring accuracy of checks.
  • Communicate closely with the floor team to ensure that guest orders, special requests, and timing are handled smoothly.
  • Maintain a deep knowledge of  food and beverage menu, ingredients, and preparation.
  • Understand different types of allergy restrictions and help communicate potential issues to floor and kitchen staff.
  • Assist in managing guest flow during busy periods, providing accurate wait times and ensuring that all guests receive timely service, meeting targets for table turn times based on reservations.
  • Train, mentor, and support fellow servers and front-of-house staff to maintain a knowledgeable and motivated team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards, as well as all applicable city, state, and federal regulations.
  • Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and concerns with professionalism and poise, ensuring that all issues are resolved to the guest’s satisfaction.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of   policies and procedures and ensure that all practices and policies are being upheld.
  • Adheres to all Department of Health and Safety standards related to food handling, hygiene, and alcohol service, including reviewing identification of all guests to verify they are of legal drinking age. 
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment and tools only as intended, properly and safely.
  • Inspect the cleanliness and organization workstations; rectify any deficiencies.
  • Inspect the cleanliness and working condition of all tools, equipment and supplies, ensuring everything complies with standards.
  • Inform supervisor on duty immediately of any DOH or OSHA/workplace safety violations.
  • Attend mandatory meetings, including staff meetings, leadership meetings, etc.
  • Adhere to posted schedules.

 

Additional Skills and Responsibilities

  • 2+ years’ experience in a high-volume restaurant environment. 
  • Exceptional food knowledge and the ability to maintain the highest-level service standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the natural ability to create a welcoming and valued guest experience.
  • Exudes excellence in hospitality both for internal and external guests.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • The ability to define and effectively solve a variety of changing situations under stress; ability to adapt to changing circumstances.  
  • Passion for exceptional hospitality, food, and beverages.
  • Self-driven, results-oriented; ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Flexible work schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.   

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Flexibility with job demands and open-minded when being asked to complete tasks.
  • May be required to lift, carry, push, or pull heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Kneel, bend, or stoop, ascend or descend stairs; be on feet for extended periods of time.
  • Occasionally crouch and climb. 
  • Working in an environment that may be exposed to hazardous equipment and situations and conditions that produce cuts or minor burns.
  • Exposed to hot and cold temperatures, such as when working near ovens or retrieving food from freezers.
  • Ability to be exposed to common allergens and unique ingredients.
