Position Summary

Hosts are the first and last point of contact for guests, playing a vital role in creating a warm and welcoming dining experience. This position is responsible for managing reservations, greeting guests, managing waitlists, and assisting in maintaining an organized flow of service. Hosts work closely with the management team to ensure a seamless and exceptional experience for every guest, reflecting the standards and culture of the restaurant and Noble Food & Pursuits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival, making them feel welcome and valued.
  • Manage reservations and waitlists, providing accurate wait times during busy periods.
  • Coordinate guest seating in collaboration with the service and management teams to optimize table turnover and guest experience.
  • Communicate with guests to ensure special requests or needs are accommodated, including accessibility or large party requests.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand, entrance, and waiting areas.
  • Answer phones professionally, assisting with inquiries, reservations, and takeout orders as needed.
  • Assist with managing guest flow and informing servers and kitchen staff of any changes to seating plans or reservation schedules.
  • Maintain a deep knowledge of the restaurant’s menu, hours of operation, and other key details to assist guests effectively.
  • Provide exceptional hospitality by resolving guest inquiries, complaints, or concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Assist with opening and closing tasks, including setting up and breaking down the host stand and entrance area.
  • Train and mentor new host team members as needed to maintain high service standards.

 

Additional Skills and Responsibilities

  • 1+ year experience in a guest-facing role, preferably in a high-volume restaurant environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the natural ability to create a welcoming environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle a variety of guest interactions with poise and professionalism.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Passion for exceptional hospitality and delivering memorable guest experiences.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • May be required to lift, carry, or move items up to 25 lbs.
  • Occasional bending, kneeling, or stooping as required to perform tasks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with varying noise levels.
  • Exposed to hot and cold temperatures, such as when working near doorways or outdoor seating areas.
