Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a variety of breads
- Follow recipes and ensure consistency in product quality and taste
- Monitor oven temperatures and baking times to ensure proper cooking
- Maintain inventory of baking ingredients and supplies
- Clean and sanitize work area and equipment regularly
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation
Additional Skills and Responsibilities
- Previous experience as a baker or in a similar role
- Knowledge of food safety and handling procedures
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and consistently
- Proficient in using kitchen tools, such as knives, mixers, and ovens
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent time management skills to meet production deadlines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Good communication skills to interact with customers and other team members
Preferred Skills
- Scratch bread baking experience.
- Experience with maintaining sourdough starter.
- Experience with lamination and viennoiserie.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- May be required to lift, carry, push, or pull heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
- Kneel, bend, or stoop, ascend or descend stairs; be on feet for extended periods of time.
- Working in an environment that may be exposed to hazardous equipment and situations and conditions that produce cuts or minor burns.
- Sometimes wear protective and safety attire, such as gloves.
