Description

At Copain, we believe that life’s greatest moments happen when we step out of the routine and make time to be together. Gathering around thoughtful food and drink is a powerful and emotional thing and we consider it a form of preservation in a busy world.

We are looking for a Bakery Logistics Manager to lead our delivery team and support the flow of product from the bakery to our locations and wholesale partners. This is a hands on, physically active role, with most of your time spent on the dock and on the road alongside the team rather than in an office. This is a newly created position driven by our growing business and the need to support additional locations and volume. The Bakery Logistics Manager sets the tone for reliability and accuracy, builds and maintains delivery routes and works closely with the production team to make sure our bread, pastries and other products leave the bakery on time and arrive in great condition.

What You Will Do

  • Show up on time, lead by example on the dock and on the road and set clear, practical expectations for the delivery team.
  • Build and maintain delivery routes and schedules with the Chef and production team, adjusting as volume, locations and business needs change.
  • Generate delivery invoices and route paperwork before trucks leave the bakery, then process signed invoices and delivery notes after routes so billing and records stay current and accurate.
  • Run regular delivery routes yourself, including box truck and sprinter runs to Winston Salem and other locations, while following traffic laws and representing Copain in a calm, professional way.
  • Oversee daily truck packing and loading. Make sure bread, pastries, cold items and frozen gelato are packed safely and securely, invoices are matched to each stop and trucks leave the dock organized and ready.
  • Own the upkeep and paperwork for the delivery vehicles. Monitor condition and cleanliness, coordinate cleanings, inspections and maintenance, keep registration and insurance current and schedule repairs while keeping leadership informed.
  • Keep the loading dock and storage areas organized, including cooler bags, electric coolers, delivery equipment and smallwares, and train drivers on loading standards, guest interaction, basic food safety and sanitation.
  • Work closely with bakery leadership on product changes, new accounts, seasonal volume shifts, service issues and staffing needs, including helping with hiring, onboarding and scheduling of delivery drivers.

What You Will Bring

  • Previous experience in delivery leadership, route management, warehouse supervision or a similar logistics role in food, beverage or distribution.
  • Comfortable working a physical, hands on schedule that includes early mornings, overnights, weekends and holidays as business needs.
  • Valid driver license with a strong driving record and confidence operating a box truck and sprinter on highways and in city traffic.
  • Experience building or managing routes and schedules, using basic computer systems and spreadsheets to plan routes, enter invoices and keep simple logs for vehicles and deliveries.
  • Strong attention to detail when working with invoices, product counts, routes and delivery notes and a habit of keeping paperwork and records current.
  • Clear, steady communication style. You keep leadership and your team informed, give direct feedback and listen when issues are raised on the dock or on the road.
  • Proven ability to lead by example, hold standards and still work alongside the team loading trucks, running routes and organizing the dock.

Why Join Us

  • Competitive pay and benefits with a salary range based on experience.
  • Take ownership of the logistics side of a chef driven bakery in a newly created role built from our growing business, with the chance to shape how routes, systems and standards develop as we expand.
  • Be part of a growing group with opportunities to expand your impact across Copain and other Noble Food and Pursuits concepts as we add locations and volume.
  • Discounts at all Noble Food and Pursuits concepts.
