Description

At Copain, we believe that life’s greatest moments happen when we step out of the routine and make time to be together. Gathering around thoughtful food and drink is a powerful and emotional thing and we consider it a form of preservation in a busy world.

We are looking for an Overnight Bakery Delivery Driver to join our busy bakery team. This role is typically scheduled from 3 am to 11 am and requires consistent weekend availability. The Delivery Driver supports the production team by carefully loading, transporting and delivering our products. The ideal candidate is dependable, comfortable working independently, moves safely and efficiently throughout the shift and takes pride in representing Copain on the road.

What You Will Do

  • Show up on time, communicate clearly and work as a steady, respectful part of the team on the dock and on the road.
  • Drive the box truck and sprinter on set routes, including a regular Winston Salem run, follow traffic laws and represent Copain in a calm, professional way.
  • Pack the truck before each route by lifting and stacking bread and pastries on shelves and setting cold items in cooler bags and frozen gelato in electric coolers so everything travels safely and securely.
  • Use route invoices to check, load and confirm all products for each stop and deliver the correct order on time, getting any required checks and signatures.
  • Pick up any product or bakery equipment that needs to return to Copain, then unload and return it to the proper areas in the bakery.
  • Return vehicles at the end of the route, bring equipment back inside, clean and sanitize coolers, cooler bags and truck shelves and help keep the loading dock and storage areas neat and organized.
  • Watch fuel levels and basic vehicle condition, refuel with the purchasing card when needed and tell the Chef about any maintenance issues, delays or product problems.

What You Will Bring

  • Previous experience in delivery driving, warehouse, route work or a physical kitchen job is preferred but not required if you bring the right work ethic.
  • Valid driver license with a solid driving record and confidence driving a box truck and sprinter on highways and around town.
  • Reliable and punctual. You show up when you say you will and you are comfortable working an overnight schedule.
  • Able to read and follow route invoices, match items to stops and double check your work so orders are accurate.
  • Steady communicator. You keep the Chef updated on problems, delays or vehicle issues and you are easy to work with on the dock and on the road.

Why Join Us

  • Be part of a chef driven bakery that cares about craft, quality and consistency in a small, focused team where your reliability and effort are noticed and appreciated.
  • Clear, consistent overnight schedule that lets you plan your days.
  • Opportunities to grow into other roles in the bakery or across Noble Food and Pursuits concepts as we continue to expand.
  • Competitive hourly pay with discounts at all Noble Food and Pursuits concepts.
