We are looking for an Early AM Pastry Cook to join our pastry team. In this role, you will work alongside the pastry and bakery team to execute early morning production, prepare pastries and desserts with consistency, and support batch production for daily bakery needs. You will help set the kitchen up for a successful day by following recipes, maintaining organization, and ensuring products are prepared to Copain’s standards. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys structured production, takes pride in detail and repetition, and thrives in the rhythm of an early morning kitchen.

What You’ll Do

  • Execute early morning pastry production according to recipes, pars, and daily prep lists
  • Prepare, bake, finish, and assemble pastries and dessert items with consistency and attention to detail
  • Support batch production for daily bakery and pastry needs
  • Update the par board throughout the shift and maintain accurate product counts to support production flow and communication across the team
  • Assist with daily setup so the pastry kitchen is organized, stocked, and ready for service and production needs
  • Support production of items for retail, café, and wholesale needs as directed by the pastry leadership team
  • Follow recipes and presentation standards to ensure all products meet Copain quality expectations
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation throughout the shift
  • Communicate clearly with chefs and team members about product levels, timing, and any issues that arise
  • Assist with labeling, storing, and rotating product properly while following food safety and sanitation standards

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience in a professional pastry, bakery, or dessert production environment preferred
  • Ability to work early morning shifts reliably and consistently
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high quality pastries and desserts
  • Ability to follow recipes, production lists, and direction with accuracy
  • Sense of urgency and ability to work efficiently in a fast paced kitchen environment
  • Positive attitude and team oriented approach
  • Dependable work ethic and strong organizational habits
