Description

Night Porter – Hampton by Hilton Birmingham Broad Street

We’re looking for a calm, reliable and proactive Night Porter to join our overnight team. Nights are the backbone of the hotel — keeping everything secure, safe and running smoothly while the rest of the city sleeps. If you’re organised, unflappable and good with people, you’ll fit right in.

Main Roles & Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist late-arriving guests, providing a friendly, reassuring presence

  • Complete night audit tasks accurately using hotel systems

  • Prepare and maintain the breakfast area for the morning team

  • Support with light food & beverage service where required

  • Patrol the hotel to ensure guest safety, building security and brand standards

  • Handle guest queries, complaints and incidents professionally

  • Complete scheduled cleaning, restocking and setup tasks across FOH and BOH

  • Manage billing, payments and reservation amendments overnight

  • Liaise with emergency services or duty management where necessary

  • Follow all safety, security, food safety and brand procedures

What We’re Looking For

  • Calm under pressure and confident working independently

  • Strong attention to detail — accuracy matters at night

  • Comfortable multitasking across reception, security checks and housekeeping duties

  • Good communicator with clear written and verbal English

  • Warm, approachable attitude — even at 3am

  • Trustworthy, reliable and comfortable being responsible for the building

  • Previous hotel experience is helpful but not essential

Useful Experience

(We can teach you the systems — we just need the right mindset)

  • Experience in hospitality, customer service or night work

  • Basic understanding of hotel systems (Opera/OnQ/Micros or similar)

  • Knowledge of health & safety and/or security procedures

  • Cash handling or audit experience

  • Experience in food safety or basic food preparation

Perks of Working With Us

  • Permanent contract with competitive night pay

  • Worldwide discounted hotel stays through Hilton Go

  • Discounts on food & beverage across Hilton hotels

  • Hilton’s Learning & Development platform for full training and growth

  • Wellbeing support including mental health, financial and health tools

  • Supportive team environment and real career progression within Hilton
