Position Title: Bar-Back

Position Overview

At Nikki Beach Baku, the Bar-Back is an essential team member who supports the bar’s seamless operation and guest experience. You work hand-in-hand with bartenders, ensuring the bar is fully stocked, immaculately clean, and ready for service at all times. With your keen eye for detail and ability to anticipate needs, you help create the elevated, energetic atmosphere that defines the Nikki Beach experience. This role also serves as a foundation for those interested in advancing into mixology and beverage service.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist bartenders with setup, service, and breakdown procedures

• Ensure consistent supply of spirits, wines, mixers, garnishes, and glassware

• Prepare mise-en-place, including fresh juices, garnishes, and syrups

• Maintain bar cleanliness and organization throughout the shift

• Polish glassware and coffee ware to brand standards

• Restock items efficiently during busy service periods

• Monitor ice levels and handle storage with proper hygiene protocols

• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards

• Support preparation of dehydrated garnishes and cocktail ingredients

• Promote teamwork by communicating clearly and assisting proactively

• Minimize waste and support eco-friendly practices

• Stay calm and professional under pressure

• Complete opening, closing, and shift-specific checklists
  

• Communicate with managers before leaving your station

• Participate in team activations and special events as required
  
  

Required Qualifications and Competencies

• Basic understanding of bar setup and beverage operations

• Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude

• Excellent awareness and ability to anticipate team needs

• Familiarity with hygiene and storage best practices

• Physical capability to lift and carry heavy supplies safely

• High level of organization and the ability to multitask

• Professional appearance and reliable time management

• Enthusiastic, team-oriented mindset with a guest-first approach

• Strong etiquette in interactions with guests and colleagues

• Knowledge of Nikki Beach’s brand culture and energy

• Eagerness to learn mixology fundamentals and beverage service flow

• Commitment to sustainability and responsible practices

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment

• Fluency in English; additional languages such as Russian and Azerbaijani are a plus
