Position: Assistant Pastry Chef
Location: Nikki Beach Baku, Azerbaijan
Contract: Seasonal


Position Overview

The Assistant Pastry Chef supports the Pastry Chef in the daily operations of the pastry kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of quality, presentation, and hygiene are consistently met. This role plays a key part in supervising, training, and guiding the pastry team while contributing to menu development, production efficiency, and overall guest satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality pastry, bakery, and dessert items
  • Ensure only the freshest and highest quality ingredients are used in all preparations
  • Support training, supervision, and performance management of pastry team members
  • Maintain and update recipes, menu specifications, and production forecasts
  • Monitor food storage, handling, labeling, and hygiene standards in line with HACCP and local regulations
  • Manage requisitions, stock levels, and inventory control for pastry operations
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is clean, functional, and properly maintained
  • Assist in menu creation, including seasonal offerings and event-specific menus
  • Monitor production flow and adjust processes to maintain cost control and quality standards
  • Uphold cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards across all pastry areas
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to enhance guest dining experiences
  • Participate in meetings, training sessions, and culinary initiatives as required
  • Support special events, VIP functions, and promotional activities

What We’re Looking For
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a pastry or bakery role
  • Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, food safety, and kitchen operations
  • Attention to detail with a passion for presentation and creativity
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills in a multicultural setting
  • Physically capable of handling kitchen equipment and lifting as required
  • Organized, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset
  • Fluency in English required; additional languages are a plus
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and events
