Role Description
The Marketing Manager is responsible for translating
Urban Playground's commercial priorities into clear, creative and measurable
marketing plans across its brands and locations. Reporting to the Head of
Commercial, the role owns campaign planning, creative quality, agency
coordination, delivery and performance, ensuring activity is on brand,
commercially aligned and continually optimised.
This hands-on role requires strong creative judgement, brand instinct,
analytical confidence and exceptional attention to detail. Managing the
Marketing Executive, the Marketing Manager will turn insight into action,
provide clear performance reporting and recommendations, and independently
manage day-to-day marketing decisions within the commercial framework set by
the Head of Commercial.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Translate commercial objectives, revenue priorities
and customer insight into clear marketing plans and integrated campaigns across
Urban Playground brands.
- Own the campaign calendar from concept and briefing
through delivery, optimisation, reporting and post-campaign learning.
- Develop campaign concepts, messaging and creative
briefs, maintaining strong brand standards and approving routine creative
output.
- Lead specialist agency partners across paid media,
organic social, PR, content and other disciplines, setting clear briefs,
deadlines, deliverables and performance expectations.
- Challenge agency recommendations using performance
data, customer insight and commercial priorities, ensuring activity remains
focused on business outcomes.
- Own marketing performance reporting, combining
agency, CRM, website, booking and campaign data to identify learning, actions
and recommendations for the Head of Commercial.
- Use CRM and customer insight to identify
segmentation, lifecycle, retention, reactivation and campaign opportunities,
coordinating execution through the Marketing Executive and specialist partners.
- Monitor marketing spend against agreed budgets and
plans, supported by accurate PO, invoice and spend tracking from the Marketing
Executive.
- Work closely with Sales, Operations and site teams
to align campaigns, launches and activations with pipeline, booking, revenue
and venue priorities.
- Manage and develop the Marketing Executive, setting
priorities and ensuring day-to-day marketing operations are organised, accurate
and delivered on time.
- Continuously review campaign and channel
effectiveness, recommending tests, changes or investment shifts where evidence
supports them.
- Monitor competitor activity, customer behaviour and
relevant marketing trends, applying useful insight to future plans and
opportunities.
Skills and Requirements
Technical
- Proven experience planning and delivering integrated
marketing campaigns in a broad marketing role.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing,
CRM/email, paid media, organic social, website/CMS and customer journey
principles.
- Ability to interpret marketing and commercial data
and turn findings into clear actions and recommendations.
- Experience managing agencies, suppliers, creative
briefs, campaign budgets and delivery timelines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with
confidence producing clear briefs, reports and presentations.
- Confident using CRM, analytics and reporting
platforms; HubSpot experience is desirable.
- Experience in leisure, hospitality, attractions,
entertainment or another consumer-led multi-site environment is advantageous.
