We are looking for a talented Junior Sous Chef to join our team here at Oblix. Our Junior Sous Chef are hardworking, dedicated and strive to deliver the superior level of customer service that we are known for. Oblix Chefs are confident working at a fast pace whilst maintaining Oblix's high standards.

Oblix - Located on the 32nd floor of The Shard, Oblix is a sophisticated, contemporary restaurant, split across two different spaces offering views across central London from East to West: 

  • Oblix West is a refined, urban dining space where people can relax and enjoy a variety of options from our menus from brunch to dinner.
  • Oblix East offers diners an eclectic mix of innovative dishes along with award winning cocktails and afternoon tea.

Main Duties
Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Showcase proficiency in all kitchen sections, continuously developing your practical and leadership skills to support the team effectively
  • Ensure all sections are prepared for service, maintaining Oblix’s reputation for quality, consistency, and creativity
  • Oversee the proper preparation, storage, and handling of food, ensuring strict adherence to Health & Safety and Food Safety regulations
  • Monitor kitchen costs and budgets, taking proactive steps to reduce expenditure and improve efficiency where necessary
  • Minimize waste by supervising deliveries and food preparation, ensuring the best use of ingredients
  • Train and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative environment of growth, communication, and feedback, while reporting progress to senior kitchen staff
